President commissions Edo State University


President Muhammadu Buhari has commissioned the Edo University, Iyamho, in Etsako West Local Government Area of Edo State.
The president of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, commissioned the new institution on Tuesday, November 8, as part of his official two-day visit to the state, Punch reports.
According to the reports, President Buhari also took a tour of the facilities, including the Muhammadu Buhari Faculty of Science.
The president was accompanied by Governor Adams Oshiomhole and a delegation, including the Lagos State Governor, Akinwumi Ambode; the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, Chief John Odigie-Oyegun , and the governor-elect, Godwin Obaseki.
Prof. Emmanuel Aluyor of the University of Benin had earlier been appointed as pioneer Vice-Chancellor » of the institution.
The newly established Edo University resumed with 500 students in April this year.
