Afro Tori - Valentine Craze; How about recession? (Nigerians this is for you, click now)

Nigerians, no doubt have slowly come to grips with the economic meltdown- which has plunged many into an aura of fragility. Many will look back at 2016 with a sense of what could have been, not necessary because they are getting cranky, but may be their luck hardly shone.

As the Valentine slowly takes the the centre stage, I've can hardly imagine just where our love-ridden desires can catapult us to - especially if this austere times does not thwart our mouth watering plans. Take a deep breath folks, and think - think about a guy searching the market place, for that faded Jean trousers and pair of white sneakers, that which will make him the cynosure of all eyes. With enthusiasm and gusto, he moves about until he finds it. But right there, the price of the Jean puts him off guard; his enthusiasm dashes out like a whirlwind as the cost of the trouser hit him like a knockout.
"Madam you say na how much for the trouser? " he muttered in pidgin, not sure of what he heard, he asked to assure himself that his ears were not playing pranks on him.
The woman who initially remained defiant, became sympathetic and asked, "OK how much you wam pay?"
The answer her face attracted a malicious hiss from the woman, the woman made a mental case of herself and that was it. He recieved his marching orders.
And just then that feeling got the better of him, the one most Nigerians can identify with. Like a nursery rhyme the name Buhari popped into his head. You know, most of Nigerians actually do this - may be they seem to forget he is the President and not a thief that jumped into our pockets and simultaneously impoverished us. Make no mistake about it folks, just in case you intend getting something fancy just carry along with you enough money so you don't wear the, 'Buhari' look at the end of the day. But if you have other ideas, you know it that nowadays - average Nigerians go to the market only to come out feeling robbed.
