Danny Glover applaud’s 93 days and Nollywood at Chicago filmfest
The much talked about movie, 93 Days, premiered at the highly-rated Chicago International Film Festival in the United States (US) last month, and the impressive turn out of cast, crew and audience at the festival made the day a not-to-be-quickly forgotten one.
Notable Hollywood actor, Danny Glover, graced the event, alongside executive producers of the film, Bolanle Austen-Peters, Steve Gukas and Dotun Olakunri.
At the premiere, Glover, who played the role of Dr. Benjamin Ohiaeri in the box-office hit movie, said many good things about it and Nollywood in general.
According to him, 93 Days reflects the never-say-die spirit of the Nigerian people. “93 Days symbolises the spirit of the Nigerian people and the vibrancy of the industry.
“From the moment we had the script, we knew we have something special. Steve (Gukas) wanted me to do a cameo role. After reading the script, I realised I need to do more than that.”
He promised to keep in touch with Nollywood and said this is not the last the country would hear of him.
93 Days is based on the true story of men and women who risked their lives and made sacrifices to save Nigeria and Nigerians, as well as residents of Nigeria, from the consequences of an outbreak of the deadly Ebola virus in the country.
At its core, 93Days is a compelling human story of dedication, sacrifice, resilience and survival.
